Akgol Lake and its environs are home to a wide variety and abundance of aquatic birds. This 6787-hectare natural conservation area is particularly significant on a national and international level, as several species are in danger of going extinct. Around 200 different bird species can be seen in the Eregli reed beds, such as Egyptian vultures, flamingos, titmouses, cormorants, numerous species of herons, swans, geese, ducks, cranes, doves, eagle owls, and great falcons. Throughout the winter, regular migrants include the little marsh, peaked marsh, great white heron, white-fronted goose, hairy duck, and crane.
Picturesque scenes were formed in the Sinop region of Ayanck, where snowfall proved effective. Images of the lake that was partially covered in ice and the pine forest that was dressed in white for a wedding were taken by drones. Snowfall was effective at Akgöl Natural Park, which lies on the outskirts of the Ayanck neighbourhood and has a unique charm with its terrain, lake, and vegetation.
The cold caused a part of Akgöl to freeze, and the neighbouring pine trees started to turn white. Akgöl’s look in a white wedding gown gives visitors unique memories to take home. Outdoor enthusiasts are following the snow to Akgol in their off-road vehicles. Drone footage showed that Akgol was partially covered with ice.

“The Akgöl Plateau, which was designated a tourism hub by the Council of Ministers, is the most significant of these. It is the most significant of the four locations designated as tourism centres in our city. Our Akgöl Plateau, which provides a visual feast to its guests throughout the four seasons and has a unique beauty in each, offers various beauties in the spring, different beauties in the autumn, and various beauties in the winter. The snow falling at the moment has given it a significant visual.”
