The Kartepe ski centre is 18 kilometres from Kocaeli’s Kartepe area and 40 kilometres from the city centre. Kartepe is only an hour and a quarter distant from Istanbul, and can be reached by Istanbul’s domestic bus system. The resort is accessible via three highways: the D-100, Anatolia, and North Marmara. The Kartepe ski centre spans 35 million square metres and has 17 ski courses ranging in length from 450 to 3,200 metres, five ski lifts, and skateboarding zones.
