One of the most significant festivals in Antalya is without a doubt the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, the oldest and most well-known international film festival in Turkey, which celebrated its 57th anniversary in 2020. The festival is referred to as the “Oscars of Turkish cinema.” Every year, it welcomes foreign actors and directors to the centre of Turkish cinema, leaving a lasting influence on the professional paths of numerous notable filmmakers. A significant number of upcoming and independent Turkish and international filmmakers are also supported by the festival. There are a number of annual festivals in Antalya dedicated to the arts that feature cinema screenings, musical performances, artist presentations and panel discussions, workshops, and more.
The International Antalya Piano Festival, which takes place in the Aspendos Hall of the Antalya Cultural Center in November and December, is another well-known occasion in the region (AKM). The festival features performances by many well-known artists from around the world in genres like jazz, classical music, and soul music.
One of the best festivals in Antalya, the Antalya International Theatre Festival, takes place every May and features performances by some of the best theatre companies and plays in the world. The Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival, one of the top festivals in Antalya, is one of the largest and most well-known sand sculpture festivals in the world. On a venue that is around 10,000 square metres in size, professional sand sculptors from all over the world take part in it. A new theme is announced each May for the festival, which lasts from May through October. The magnificent atmosphere that is produced by the massive sculptures that are illuminated by LED lighting is enhanced with theme-specific music. Visitors are welcome to view the artwork as it is being created by the artists. The steps of the sculptures’ creation are also displayed in the exhibition area. At the Sandland Museum, huge sand sculptures are available for viewing all year long (Antalya Sand Sculpture Museum).
