The “bird paradise” known as Arin Lake, which is located on the outskirts of the Adilcevaz neighbourhood of Bitlis, welcomes its final guests. Arin Lake, which is inside the district’s boundaries and has a surface area of 1,000 657 hectares on the northern bank of Lake Van, is progressively losing its unique chirp as the weather cools.
The visitors to the lake slowly dispersed as the weather decreased. Numerous bird species live around the lake in the spring and summer, especially flamingos. Arin Lake, which welcomes its last guests before the storms, changes into a playground for the kids in the local towns due to the freezing conditions throughout the winter. A large number of bird species, particularly flamingos, migrate to the lake during the summer.
A tiny number of bird species, particularly geese, stay here throughout these frigid months. When the lake is entirely frozen in January, it turns into a playground and a delightful place for kids, according to Derya elik, a member of the Van Lake Activists Association.

Derya Çelik, Member of the Van Lake Activists Association, stated that there are many guests of Arin Lake in the summer period and said:
“The lake is a bird paradise. In summer, dozens of bird species, especially flamingos, come here through migration. In these months when the weather is cold, a small number of bird species, especially geese, stay here. In January, the lake is completely frozen and this time it becomes a fun and playground for young people.”
